After reviewing and rewriting our policies and procedures we are really excited to announce we now hold a AALA License for paddlesports.

What is an AALA license?

Adventure activities licensing ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices.

These should allow young people to experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors without being exposed to avoidable risks of death or disabling injury.

An AALA license is recognition that our systems and policies follow industry standard practise. It applies and is a legal necessity for all organisations providing adventurous activities in certain conditions to those who are under 18.

What about an AALA license for rowing?

Rowing falls outside of the remit of AALA, it is not designated as an adventurous activity (we would disagree) so diesn’t need to be licensed. However as part of the process of applying for the license we looked at our rowing procedures and practises to make sure they were as great as they should be.
